Abstract |
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region IV has reviewed the subject decision document and concurs with the selected remedy for the remedial action at Operable Unit (OU) 5 at the former Homestead Air Force Base (HAFB). The selected remedy consists Land Use Controls which include: Posting of signs; Restriction on construction; Notify workers before they excavate; Obtain FDEP and EPA approval prior to construction design; Restrict groundwater access; No water supply wells within restricted area; No residential usage; 'Dig permit' required prior to construction; and Conduct inspection and correct discrepancies. |
