Abstract
In some areas of the country, municipal wastewater sludges have been used for many years as a soil amendment for croplands producing fruits and vegetables. The document draws upon the expertise within the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Agriculture, and the Food and Drug Administration in providing the first statement of unified Federal guidance for those locations where such programs are to continue.
