Abstract
The results of a two-phase survey of the water of the Colorado River in the Grand Valley area and of the water of the Gunnison River are presented. The first phase of the Grand Valley survey was conducted during the nonirrigation season and included the area from Cameo, Colorado, to below Moab, Utah; the second phase was conducted during the irrigation season and included the area from Cameo downstream to Westwater, Utah. Flow data is reported, detailed information on total dissolved solids in the waters is given, and the relative significance of the sources causing the increase in total dissolved solids in these waters is evaluated.
