| Abstract | The guidance document presents surface impoundment design specifications that the EPA believes comply with the design and operating requirements of Section 264.228(a) of surface impoundment regulations. The document is arranged according to the sections of the regulations to which it corresponds. The specifications contained in this document are guidance, not regulations. The Agency is not requiring, and does not intend, that all units be built this way. |
