Abstract |
The Federal Water Pollution Control Act authorizes the award of grants-in-aid for research, training, and demonstration projects, and for research fellowships. The purposes of these grants are to encourage, cooperate with, and assist appropriate authorities, agencies, institutions, and individuals in the conduct of studies and training relating to the causes, control and prevention of water pollution. Support is available for projects and fellowships designed to improve the sanitary condition of water, to conserve water for public water supplies, propagation of fish and aquatic life and wildlife, recreational purposes, agricultural, industrial and for other legitimate uses. Four types of grants are available. The report lists, by state, the recipients of these grants. (Author) |
