This SOP provides basic steps to guide the process of collecting, editing, and reporting accurate spatial data using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. The intended audience of this document includes all personnel involved in planning and conducting GPS surveys, as well as processing and reporting GPS data sets. This SOP is not intended as a detailed user manual for special brands of GPS receivers, operating systems or software applications.
