Abstract |
This report characterizes the national solid waste stream for the previous calendar year based on data collected from 1960 through 1996. It also discussses trends and highlights changes that have occurred over the years, both in the types of wastes generated and in the ways they are managed. The data in the report can be used to develop approximate estimates of MSW generation and composition in defined areas. |
