Abstract

This report presents a technical, economical evaluation of the Glass Recovery Subsystem operating at the Franklin, Ohio Solid Waste and fiber recovery plant. Discussions include a description of the mechanical separation of glass from municipal solid waste using a color sorting technique, and the costs for implementing the subsystem in facilities processing 150, 500 and 1000 tons of municipal solid waste per day. A discussion of aluminum recovery is included.
