Abstract | The study has been undertaken at the initiative of the Government Liaison Committee of the Tronoto Home Builders' Association. Part One of this report examines the types and volumes of waste products being produced on low-rise residential construction and renovation sites. Part Two of the report outlines the shifting regulatory environment in Metropolitan Toronto and the surrounding regions, as well as listing some of the alternative practices which might be employed to implement the three Rs of waste management; Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling. Part Three of the report presents some recommendations to the Association for consideration. The report proposes several follow-up initiatives which will result in more specific direction on procedures which can be implemented by the builder. |
