Abstract
This report presents a United States/Canada joint summary and comparative review of detailed separate studies of legislative, regulatory and administrative programs which address the control of pollution from land use activities. Principal agencies and levels of government with roles in each of nine land use categories identified by PLUARG are discussed. the effectiveness of programs intended to prevent water pollution from land use activities is evaluated. Discussions of each land use activity include a summary description of the institutional framework relevant to it.
