Abstract |
The objective is to obtain accurate hexane measurements from Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry spectra recorded at field tests at iron and steel sintering plants and at steel foundry plants. The approach is to measure reference spectra of some organic compounds that are not included in the EPA reference spectrum library and then use these new reference spectra in revised analyses of the field test spectra. The revised analyses will provide better discrimination of the hexane component from the absorbance bands of the organic mixture. |
