Abstract |
The objective of the research was to evaluate relationships between the productive condition of the sediment environment and pollution effects normally experienced along a densely populated coastline. Specifically the work was designed to: Improve the methodology for measuring the productivity of the benthic microflora community; Determine the normal rate of productivity of the microflora community of shoal benthic environments, as indicated by the rate of 14 C uptake by intact samples of samples; Compare this norm with productivity in an area affected by heavy domestic pollution and an area affected by thermal addition. |
