Abstract
Stream pollution surveys were undertaken on Slocum Creek near Havelock, North Carolina, in order to determine water quality effect on bathing, fishing, and water skiing. During the surveys, waste waters were not being treated satisfactorily and the effluents interfered with the best use of receiving streams. The discharge of of oxygen demanding material in all waste waters was particularly severe, making fish or desirable fishfood organism life impossible. Recommendations are made for improvement.
