Abstract
The report gives results of field measurements made on a 50,000 lb stream/hr coal-fired overfeed stoker with traveling grate. The effects of various parameters on boiler emissions and efficiency were studied. Parameters include overfire air, excess oxygen, grate heat release, and coal properties. Measurements include O2, CO2, CO, NO, SO2, SO3, incontrolled particulate loading, particle size distribution of the uncontrolled flyash, and combustible content of the ash. In addition to test results and observations, the report describes the facility tested, coals fired, test equipment, and procedures. On the primary coal, full-load uncontrolled particulate loading on this unit averaged 0.78 lb/million Btu, while full-load controlled particulate loading averaged 0.14 lb/million Btu. Full-load NO emissions averaged 0.31 lb/million Btu.
