Abstract |
An instrument is described which employs a dichotomous sampler to acquire fine particulate samples on a continuous tape filter. Analyses for elemental sulfur are performed immediately following acquisition using a sensitive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. Sample sequencing, data acquisition, and calculation of concentrations are performed continuously using an on-online calculator. Precision and accuracy of the method are discussed and results obtained from ambient measurements are presented. |
