Abstract
The proceedings document the presentations made during the symposium, which dealt with the status of flue gas desulfurization technology, both in the U.S. and abroad. The presentations emphasize process costs, both regenerable and non-regenerable processes, second generation processes, and byproduct disposal/utilization. Aim of the symposium was to provide potential users of sulfur oxide control technology with a current review of progress made in applying processes for the reduction of sulfur oxide emissions at the full- or semi-commercial scale. This volume covers the opening session and the non-regenerable processes session.
