Abstract
A task force of outstanding experts in radiology, engineering, and computer science was formed under Public Health Service contract with the University of Missouri. Its purpose was to study the functional organization and status of diagnostic radiology from a perspective of increasing the effectiveness of radiological systems while obtaining the maximum amount of diagnostic benefit per unit of radiation exposure. The report details the findings and recommendations of the task force. (Author)
