Abstract
A static 96-hour toxicity study was conducted December 6-10, 1993 to determine the acute toxicity of (sanitized) with 0.25 wt% (sanitized) to rainbow trout. a representative freshwater fish species. The study was requested by (sanitized). Fish were exposed to test material concentrations of 97 ppm. 486 ppm, 1,002 ppm, 2,004 ppm. and 5,010 ppm (w/v, based on density) which were maintained as distributions of small droplets following oil-water dispersion (OWD) generation. Test solutions were not renewed during conduct of the study. Water quality parameters of pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen (D.O.) were measured in all test chambers throughout the study. The toxicity of the test material was evaluated on the basis of LC50 determinations at 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The term LC50 used in this report refers to the concentration causing 50% mortality after a specified exposure period. The 96-hour comouter-estimated LCso for the test material was >5,010 ppm. This value places with 0.25 wt% 3 the 'Essentially Non-Toxic' (LC50 >5,000 ppm) category.
