Abstract
The predominant tree type is the Scotch fir which is very sensitive to smoke. Primary cause of the smoke damage is SO2 emissions originating from the industrialized area of Central Germany. The report uses cartographic evaluation of SO2 content as a suitable basis for remedial measures.
