Abstract
This manual guides the user in applying the sediment-contaminant transport model SERATRA. SERATRA is an unsteady, two-dimensional code that uses the finite element computation method with the Galerkin weighted residual technique. The model has general convection-diffusion equations with decay and sink/source terms with appropriate boundary conditions. A sediment transport model, a dissolved contaminant transport submodel, and a particulate contaminant transport submodel are coupled to include the effects of sediment-contaminant interaction. SERATRA is an integral part of the Chemical Migration and Risk Assessment Methodology, which predicts overland and instream pesticide migration and fate to assess the potential short- and long-term impacts on aquatic biota in receiving streams.
