Abstract | Since it was established in 1970, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has worked to achieve a cleaner, healthier environment for all Americans. From regulating vehicle emissions to banning the use of the pesticide DDT, from cleaning up toxic waste to protecting the ozone layer, and from promoting recycling and resource conservation to revitalizing inner city brownfield sites, EPA and its partners and stakeholders have made enormous strides in protecting human health and the environment. This Highlights document summarizes some of the key information provided in EPAs full FY 2007 PAR (Performance and Accountability Report). |
