Abstract |
The summary statistics presented in the document support EPA's development of effluent limitations guidelines, standards, and best management practices (BMPs) for the control of pollutant discharges associated with the retention on cuttings (ROC) of synthetic-based drilling fluids (SBFs) and other drilling fluids that are non-dispersible in water. EPA's primary uses for these summary statistics include: (1) estimating current (baseline) pollutant discharges, (2) evaluating regulatory options, (3) calculating potential effluent limits, and (4) evaluating a criteria for accepting applications to institute BMPs. |
