Abstract
The EPOC microfiltration technology, using a dynamic (formed-in-place) membrane to remove, concentrate, and dewater suspended solids (down to 0.1 micrometer, diameter), was evaluated on acid mine drainage (AMD) at the Iron Mountain Mine Superfund site near Redding, California. Operating and cost data collected from this demonstration provide the basis for this evaluation. This report offers information useful in assessing the suitability of this process to other similar sites, and includes additional information (supplied by the developer) relative to performance on other types of contaminated water.
