Abstract
The objectives of this project were: (1) to determine if granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorption beds applied in water treatment practice slough-off organic materials during the spring warm-up and (2) to evaluate the feasibility of the dilute or low-level COD procedure for the control of GAC beds in water treatment applications. Nine water treatment plants were studied for a period of five months during the spring of 1979.
