Abstract | Chlorinated hydrocarbon insecticides and their metabolites were measured by electron-capture, gas-liquid chromatography in 114 sample of plasma, 32 samples of fat, and 14 samples of urine from 71 men who manufacture aldrin, dieldrin, and endrin. A rather high coefficient of correlation was found for the concentration of dieldrin in different kinds of samples from the same person. The concentration of dieldrin in samples showed a good correlation with total duration of exposure or with the intensity of exposure as indicated by the kind of work. The levels of aldrin and dieldrin found in the exposed workers were significantly greater than those in the general population. |
