Abstract
Much has been learned in recent years about air pollution, acid precipitation and atmospheric deposition and their effects on public welfare. There are still unanswered questions about certain aspects of these problems and possible strategies for their solution. Public concern about acid rain is very evident today in many parts of the world. Effects on aquatic ecosystems, agricultural crops and forests, on the soils and water quality are being carefully studied.
