| Abstract | The purpose of the paper is to summarize the guidance issued to implement the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator's October 3, 1977 Policy Statement on Land Treatment and the provisions of the Clean Water Act of 1977 (PL 95-217). The paper will be presented in four sections covering (1) guidance for evaluation of land treatment in facility planning, (2) guidance on reasonable preapplication treatment prior to land treatment, (3) regulation and requirement changes to implement PL 95-217 and (4) a summary of the status report to Congress as required by PL 95-217 on beneficial utilization of nutrients in wastewaters and sludges due October 1978. |
