Abstract
The report describes two computer programs that are used to convert State of Illinois air quality data to the SAROAD format. The first program (the PREPROCESSOR) preprocesses the Illinois data on tape and writes out an output tape for the main program (the CONVERSION). The PREPROCESSOR is written in ASSEMBLY to facilitate the unpacking of some of the data records which are in packed decimal format. The CONVERSION is written in FORTRAN 4 and does all the necessary conversion to the SAROAD format.

This report describes two computer programs that are used to convert State of Illionois air quality data to the SAROAD format. The first program (the PREPROCESSOR) preprocesses the Illinois data on tape and writes ot an output tape for the main program (the CONVERSION). The PREPROCESSOR is written in ASSEMBLY to facilitate the "unpacking" of some of the data records which are in packed decimal format. The CONVERSION is written in FORTRAN IV and does all the necessary conversion to the SAROAD format.
