Abstract
The Proceedings contains copies of 19 of the 20 papers presented at the two and one-half day symposium. Typical papers include: Wastewater characterization for the specialty food industry; treatment of shrimp processing, rum distillery, vegetable oil refinery, and meat processing wastewaters; process modifications for cleaning and peeling of tomatoes, and blanching and cooling of vegetables; by-product recovery from meat processing wastes, fish processing wastes, and waste activated sludge; wastewater reuse in poultry processing; and economics of treating fruit and vegetable processing wastewaters.
