Abstract
A rapid and sensitive method is described for the determination of cholinesterase. Plasma or red cells are incubated with 3,3-dimethylbutyl acetate as the substrate. The reaction produce, 2,3-dimethyl butanol, is extracted into carbon disulfide and determined by GLC. The method is suitable for the analysis of samples that are quite low in enzyme activity.
