Abstract
The Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP) is part of the Office of Research and Development's (ORD) response to both the Science Advisory Board's recommendation and the Agency's call for 'managing for results.' EMAP's goal is to monitor the condition of the nation's ecological resources. EMAP data will enable one to evaluate the success of current policies and programs and identify emerging problems before they become widespread or irreversible.
