Abstract |
This document contains a project definition, a set of functional requirements, and a functional design for a system which will link a commercial chromatography data system to the EPA Laboratory Automation System. A Varian 220L Chromatography Data System was selected as the prototype system to be extended in this project, although these specifications can be adapted to other commercial systems. The current methods of using the Varian system are briefly described in this report. The bulk of the report is a detailed list of the additional functions to be performed by the EPA Laboratory Automation System. These functions include multi-point calibration, calculation of concentrations, identification of compounds, calculation of relative retention times, and calculation of quality control statistics. A general plan for the proposed system is provided. |
