The Environmental Management Guide for Small Laboratories (Guide) is designed to help staff in small labs to better understand their responsibility for good environmental management. Its purpose is to improve environmental performance by assisting in the development and implementation of environmental management programs that meet important Federal regulatory requirements and prevent pollution. It is important to understand that for small lab environmental programs to be fully responsive, the information provided here must be supplemented by information contained in state, tribal or local regulations and by good management practices. This Guide is designed to be a good starting source.
