Abstract
Continuous measurements of particle number, particle-bound polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), and carbon monoxide (CO) have been made since September, 1996 in an occupied townhouse. Objectives include (1) identification of the major sources; (2) quantification of source strengths; and (3) estimation of particle and particle-bound PAH deposition rates. The major indoor source of fine particles, particle-bound PAH and CO was cooking. The outdoor source producing the highest indoor peaks of fine particles, particle-bound PAH, and CO was neighborhood woodburning. A morning traffic rush hour, but not an evening one, could also be detected on most weekdays.
