Abstract
A final rule for the control of hexavalent chromium emissions from comfort cooling towers (CCT) is being promulgated under authority of Section 6 of the Toxic Substances Control Act. The final rule prohibits both the use of Cr(+6) in CCTs and the distribution in commerce of CR(+6) for use in CCTs. The rule would apply to existing and new CCTs. The document contains a summary of changes to the rule made since proposal, a summary of the impacts of the promulgated rule, and a summary of the public comments on the proposed rule and EPA's responses.
