Abstract
The modeling component of the Ozone Transport Assessment Group (OTAG) program required the production of hourly biogenic emission calculations for four separate episodes. The dates of the four episodes are as follows: July 1-5, 1988, July 13-21, 1991, July 20-30, 1993 and July 7-8, 1995. Hourly biogenic emissions were computed for each episode using two versions of the Biogenic Emission Inventory system, BEIS1 and BEIS2. Primary because of changes in emission factors and land use data, the domain wide BEIS2 isoprene emissions are 5.7 times larger than the BEIS1 emissions. The domain wide BEIS2 NO emissions are approximately 3 times larger than the BEIS1 emissions, primarily because of increased emission factors for agricultural soils. In addition, the horizontal structure of the NO emissions shows some substantial changes across the domain.
