Abstract
Emissions were characterized from a group of four-stroke lawnmower engines. The engines were tested using two gasoline fuels: a 1990 national average blend and a reformulated fuel. Organic and carbon monoxide emission rates were lower with the reformulated gasoline but nitrogen oxide emission rates were higher. Emission rates of aggregate toxic and reactivity weight emissions were also reduced with the use of the reformulated gasoline.
