Abstract
Executive Correspondence (AX) refers to all correspondence addressed to the Administrator or Deputy Administrator from outside the Agency. It is controlled initially by the Office of the Executive Secretariat (OEX). AX correspondence is from presidents of companies, heads of agencies, and occasionally from private citizens. OEX determines the level of priority for each correspondence. Administrator's Legislation (AL) refers to correspondence addressed to the Administrator, Deputy Administrator, and the Office of Congressional Liaison and Affairs from Congress or an individual member of Congress. This type of correspondence is controlled initially in the Congressional Correpondence Unit of the OEX. The SWER (Solid Waste and Emergency Response) process applies to controlled correspondence resulting from direct assignments from the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER). The OSWER Controlled Correspondence Unit (CC Unit) has initial control of this correspondence.
