Abstract | When DNA is damaged by covalent modifications or additions of xenobiotic components, repair processes must correctly excise the offending region. Some modifications to DNA do persist and thus warrant study. The article discusses various CE techniques used in our research involving DNA adducts (modifications). CE is shown to be extremely helpful in separating various DNA components, optimizing enzyme reactions, analyzing DNA adducts, and developing adduct purification schemes.
