| Abstract | The photochemical oxidants found in ambient air in the highest concentrations are ozone (O3) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). The document focuses primarily on the scientific air quality criteria for O3 criteria and, to a lesser extent, for hydrogen peroxide and the peroxyacyl nitrates, particularly peroxyacetyl nitrate. The purpose of this document is to summarize the air quality criteria O3 available in the published literature through the end of 1993. This review was performed in accordance with provisions of the Clean Air Act (CAA) to provide the scientific basis for periodic reevaluation of the O3 NAAQS. |
