| Abstract |
This project provides a literature review of landfill gas generation and movement and the state-of-the-art of landfill gas control technology; a review of the explosion attributed to ignition of migrating landfill gas in the North Carolina National Guard Armory on 27 September 1969; the design, installation, evaluation and demonstration of a unique type of active gas barrier between the Link Road landfill and the Armory; and the development of guideline considerations for gas barrier design and detection of landfill gas migration hazards. |
