Abstract
The Getty Synthetic Fuels, Incorporated, landfill gas processor located at C.I.D., Chicago, Illinois, was sampled for organic compounds from three gas streams: the inlet gas off the landfill, the discharge to the pipeline distribution system and an ambient vent. A liquid stream was also sampled and analyzed for certain metals as well as the organic compounds. Test results indicate the presence in low levels of many of the compounds presently being investigated as hazardous substances. However, it was determined that the 'sale' gas was relatively clean with respect to the inlet gas. It was concluded that the condensate system is an effective hydrocarbon removal process.
