Abstract
EPA Region 2 is committed to providing equal protection to all communities we serve. Accordingly, Region 2 is incorporating Environmental Justice (EJ) in its technical and management decisions and actions. In accordance with the President's Executive Order 12898 ( EO), this report has been developed to assist in the achievement of this goal. It is the Region's intent to use the Interim Policy to ensure that we can identify, target, and be responsive to those communities that experience disproportionately high and adverse human health and environmental burdens. Further, the Region is committed to ensuring that all the communities and stakeholders we serve have environmental protection and livable, sustainable communities.The Region believed it was essential for the Region to solicit input from our stakeholders in the development of this policy.
