Abstract
This decision document presents the selected remedy for the V&M/Albaladejo Farms Site (Site), located in the Almirante Norte Ward of the municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, which was chosen in accordance with the requirements of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, (as amended,), (CERCLA), 42 U.S.C. SS 9601-9675, and to the extent practicable, the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), 40 CFR Part 300. This decision document explains the factual and legal basis for selecting the remedy for the Site. The information supporting this remedial action decision is contained in the administrative record for the Site. The administrative record index is attached. The Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board (EQB) concurs with the selected remedy. This selected remedy addresses the fate and transport of the contaminants in the groundwater emanating from the Site. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in consultation with the Puerto Rico EQB, has determined that site-related groundwater contamination is limited and does not pose a significant threat to human health or the environment; therefore, remediation is not necessary.
