| Abstract |
This report represents an extensive literature review of sampling methods for measuring lead in house dust to highlight what is currently known about the subject. The primary purpose of the literature review was to write a comprehensive report that provides a background for standardizing house dust sampling techniques so that lead dust standards, once developed, can be used consistently and effectively. The report outlines issues related to house dust in homes; defines terms and explains basic concepts; summarizes numerous house dust sampling methods described in the literature; and discusses sampling strategies and their implications for achievable, meaningful, and cost-effective dust collection. The report also gives conclusions and recommendations for future research. |
