Abstract
A Conference on Point-of-Use Treatment of Drinking Water was held on October 6-8, 1987, to provide information on the application of point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) systems for treating drinking water to a wide-cross section of people interested in the technology. The report is a compilation of the speakers' papers. Administrative and technical topics covered are regulatory activities, consumer education/protection, treatment, the microbiology of GAC systems, and system applications. The proceedings concluded with a series of papers prepared by representatives of EPA, American Water Works Association, Water Quality Association, and the general public who expressed their point of view on POU/POE Treatment.
