In accordance with API's policy of providing the federal government with copies of contractor report on API-sponsored research designed to determine whether any chemical substance or mixture manufactured, processed, or distributed by API member companies may cause risk of injury to health or the environment, I am enclosing two new draft sections to be inserted in the draft final report, 'Acute Toxicity of Drilling Muds Containing Hydrocarbon Additives and Their Fate and Partitioning Between Liquid, Suspended, and Solid Phases,' by Battelle New England Marine Research Laboratory, which was submitted to you on October 13, 1983.
