The paper is intended to provide a preliminary estimate of the economic potentials and a broad guide to the anticipated growth of the subject area. The paper is intended only as an initial estimate of the outlook for the Umpqua River area. Subsequently, in connection with the Columbia basin study, an analysis will be made, on an industry-by-industry basis, of the growth potential in such sub-basins as the Umpqua. At that time, this preliminary estimate for the Umpqua area will be reviewed, and revised if necessary. (Author)
