Abstract
Benzo(k)fluoranthene is not classifiable as a human carcinogen, and is, therefore, placed in weight-of-evidence Group D under the EPA Guidelines for Carcinogen Risk Assessment. Evidence on potential carcinogenicity from animal studies is 'Inadequate,' and the evidence from human studies is 'No Data.' Due to the inadequacy or lack of human and animal data, benzo(k)fluoranthene could not be assigned a potency factor (F), could not be placed in a potency group, nor could it receive a hazard ranking for the purposes of RQ adjustment. Therefore, no RQ can be assigned based on potential carcinogenicity. Other primary criteria must be used for assigning RQ's.
