Abstract
The purposes of this study were: (1) to determine if there is a relationship between the concentrations of carbon monoxide (CO) and unburned organic matter (THC) in the exit gas from sewage sludge incinerators; (2) To measure the concentration of THC in the exit gas from 'well operated' sewage sludge incinerators; (3) To measure the concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDF) in the exit gas from sewage sludge incinerators; and (4) To study the relationship between incinerator operating conditions (including final hearth temperature) and exit THC concentrations.
